While Japanese animated series, comic strips and gaming platforms have long impressed audiences worldwide, travellers find it truly magical to witness the worlds of their favourite studio brought to life up close. One such immersive attraction is Ghibli Park, which opened in 2022 at Expo 2005 Aichi Commemorative Park in Nagakute, bringing the beloved animated worlds of Studio Ghibli films such as My Neighbor Totoro to Spirited Away to life.

Now, a video going viral on the internet offers a virtual tour of Ghibli Park. From the surreal atmosphere inspired by its iconic films to the magical landscapes that recreate unforgettable scenes, the park looks undeniably whimsical.

The park features nature-integrated, whimsical landscapes rather than traditional rides, allowing visitors to walk through meticulously crafted real-life scenes from the films. It includes a life-sized Totoro house, the antique shop from Whisper of the Heart, and the magical buildings inspired by Howl's Moving Castle.

The park has five distinct areas: Ghibli's Grand Warehouse, Hill of Youth, Dondoko Forest, Mononoke Village and the Valley of Witches.

Key Tips for Visiting Ghibli Park in Japan

Book in Advance: Tickets usually sell out quickly, so you need to book through a lottery system in advance.

Plan Your Time: You need a "Premium Pass" to enter all life-size buildings. Otherwise, you will only be allowed to view the exteriors.

Wear Comfortable Shoes: The entire park involves extensive walking. Hence, comfortable shoes are recommended.

No Parking: There is no private parking at the park. Therefore, relying on public transport is recommended.

Photography: Photography is allowed in most areas, but make sure to read the instructions carefully, as it is prohibited in certain exhibition rooms.
