Bengaluru: SK-II, the global prestige skincare brand, has officially entered the Indian market, marking a strategic expansion into one of the world’s fastest-growing beauty and skincare segments.

The brand’s India debut is centred around its proprietary ingredient PITERA™, a yeast-derived formulation developed through a fermentation process and used across its product portfolio, including its flagship Facial Treatment Essence.

With over four decades of global presence, SK-II’s product development has been rooted in research around fermentation-based skincare. PITERA™ contains a blend of vitamins, amino acids, minerals, and organic acids, forming the core of the brand’s formulations.

The company is positioning its lightweight formulations for markets such as India, where climate and consumer preferences favour fast-absorbing skincare solutions. Its Facial Treatment Essence, comprising over 90% PITERA™, is among its key offerings and is widely recognised in Asian markets.

As part of its India strategy, SK-II is also introducing a personalised skincare consultation experience through its Magic Scan device, which uses facial recognition and AI-driven diagnostics to provide customised product recommendations.

In India, SK-II will be distributed in partnership with LUXASIA and will be available through Nykaa stores across major cities including Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad, as well as at Galeries Lafayette.

Globally, the brand has built visibility through endorsements from celebrities such as Haruka Ayase, Tang Wei, Moon Ga-young, and Mina.
