A major fire broke out at a plastic materials warehouse in Hyderabad's Meerpet shortly after midnight on Tuesday, spreading to an adjacent warehouse and causing extensive property damage. Firefighters brought the blaze under control after several hours, with no casualties or injuries reported.

Hyderabad: A major fire broke out at a plastic materials warehouse at Nandanavanam in Meerpet on Tuesday midnight.

No casualties were reported but major property has been damaged, police said.

According to officials, the blaze erupted suddenly at the warehouse located near Metro Bar and spread rapidly due to the presence of plastic materials.

The flames soon engulfed an adjacent warehouse and spread to nearby buildings, prompting residents to alert the Fire Department and local police.

Three fire engines rushed to the spot and firefighters battled the blaze for several hours before bringing it under control, preventing the flames from spreading further.

Officials said no casualties or injuries were reported in the incident.

However, the fire is believed to have caused heavy damage to the warehouses. The exact extent of the property loss is yet to be assessed.

The Meerpet police are investigating the cause of the fire. Meanwhile fire officials are expected to examine the site to determine what triggered the blaze.
